James Franco joins OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

james franco

James Franco seems to have blown up in the past year or so, even when he’s spending a lot of time doing things you wouldn’t expect him to, like General Hospital. Regardless, he is a hard-working guy and is constantly attached to so many projects at a single time. It doesn’t seem like they are stopping any time soon.

Franco has reportedly joined the cast of OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL where he would be taking the lead role. Continue reading “James Franco joins OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL”

Joel McHale joins the stuffed cast of Seth MacFarlane's TED

Joel McHale is on fire right now. From being the nonstop hilarious host of The Soup on E!, he is also one of the best parts of NBC’s Community. Community is easily one of the best shows on TV right now, but it’s also one of the best comedy shows in years.

Today we got word that he is in final negotiations to deal with the stuffed teddy bear menace in Seth McFarlane’s TED. Continue reading “Joel McHale joins the stuffed cast of Seth MacFarlane's TED”

JACK THE GIANT KILLER snags Ewan McGregor

The people behind JACK THE GIANT KILLER have been going cast-crazy lately, and are seemingly announcing the entire cast. First they announced that Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy were joining its cast, then they announced Nicholas Hoult (Beast in the upcoming X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) a  the lead role. Now we are hearing about another big name joining the cast, and this one is a Jedi.

Ewan McGregor will be taking up the role of the King’s Guard Leader who joins Jack in his giant-killing adventure. This seems like a really fitting role for McGregor to take up, as he’s played a great mentor before. With Bryan Singer directing, I have a feeling they will give him plenty of moments of bad-assery. Upcoming HELLRAISER film isn't quite a remake

As we’ve known for a while, there is an upcoming HELLRAISER film in the works. After having seemingly countless sequels in the series, we need something a little different. That’s why it only makes sense for them to go for a remake of the original, something we’ve been hearing about for awhile now.

Now, according to the writers and director of the upcoming film, Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer, we are hearing it might not be a direct remake of the original film. Continue reading “Upcoming HELLRAISER film isn't quite a remake”

Could Justin Timberlake STOOGE it up?

Justin Timberlake blew just about everyone away with his performance as Sean Parker in David Fincher’s THE SOCIAL NETWORK. He finally found a role that suited him very well, and now it’s hard to say he isn’t a good actor.

On the flip-side, rumor has it that the Farrelly Brothers have Justin Timberlake in mind as one of the people who could play Larry Fine in their upcoming THREE STOOGES movie. The key word here is rumor, according to The Boston Herald, the Farrellys are considering Timberlake for the role. They also claim that Peter Farrelly has talked to Larry David about maybe taking up the role also. So this is all still brewing, but it gives us a little insight as to what they’re looking for. Giovanni Ribisi added to Seth MacFarlane's TED

TED is quickly shaping up to be quite a packed motion picture, as Seth MacFarlane seems to really be attempting to go all out on his first feature. Every time we get an update on its current state, I end up feeling more excited about it. This is slightly disconcerting to me, as I’ve never been ashamed of my pure distaste for Family Guy.

Now the cast of TED is getting even better, as Giovanni Ribisi has officially joined the cast. Continue reading “Giovanni Ribisi added to Seth MacFarlane's TED”

A Geek's Dream: Kevin Spacey almost faced Bond

When BOND 23 was first put on hold, an incredible force of rage and sadness overcame me. Not only did this mean that Sam Mendes might not direct the film when (and if) it came back, but it also meant I had to wait even longer for my next Bond fix. The wait was already long enough as it was.

Then we found out it was back on, Mendes was still on as director, and Javier Bardem was lined up to play the villain in the film. And while that’s all good news, now we are finding out what could have been if the film was not delayed. That “could have” was Kevin Spacey. Adrianne Palicki takes up the role of "Wonder Woman" for NBC

Wonder Woman is one of the main staples of the DC comics universe, yet sometimes gets overlooked as such. Several years ago, Joss Whedon was hard at work trying to bring her to the big screen, in an attempt that didn’t pan out so well. This left her behind as Superman, Green Lantern, and Batman hit the golden screen.

NBC is, however, working on bringing us a new Wonder Woman TV series, and word is out that Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) will be taking up the mantle from the unforgettable Lynda Carter. Continue reading “Adrianne Palicki takes up the role of "Wonder Woman" for NBC”
