After having many struggles on it’s way to production, it seems that Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner’s feature film debut is finally making it’s way to reality. In fact, this is actually it’s third incarnation in the past couple of years, and seemingly it’s strongest yet.
Now we can add Laura Ramsey to the likes of Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, and Owen Wilson to the film.
YOU ARE HERE follows a man named Ben (Galifianakis), who must come to terms with the responsibilities of running his family store after the death of his father. Wilson will be playing his best friend Steve Dallas, a weatherman, with Poehler taking up the reins of Ben’s mean sister. The film is a comedy, and doesn’t seem like something I would expect from Weiner, but I’m not going to be so quick to doubt him. He has a massive talent, and can surely guide the cast toward something really great.
Ramsey on the other hand, will have a smaller role. She will be playing a young widow, who also serves up as the love interest for Wilson’s character. Although the role is smaller, it leaves room for massive potential. Although I expect more out of Ramsey’s role, Look back to Malin Akerman’s tiny role in the first HAROLD AND KUMAR film, then think about where she is at now.
YOU ARE HERE seems to be shaping up well. Hopefully we will get more info on the film as production progresses.
