I know we don’t really talk about video games all that often on this site, but today I bring you some news that fits into both movie and game territory. The game in question is based off of the upcoming STAR TREK film sequel, and stars new Kirk and Spock, with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto’s likenesses. The game will be a bridge between the first film and it’s sequel.

From the looks of it, it seems that there is a lot of good work being put into this game, which is a breath of fresh air. Games based off of movie properties have a tendency to be quite awful, so I’d love to see this one break the cycle. It seems like the gameplay is going to be similar to third person shooters such as Mass Effect or Gears of War. I wouldn’t mind this, as both of those games are some of my favorites, and I generally prefer third person shooters over the much more popular first person games.
We’ll see how the game turns out. Hopefully it won’t be a let down like so many game adaptations before it.
