The Marvel/Disney deal brought up a whole lot of questions for fans. What would this mean for how Marvel operates? Would anything change, or would it be business as usual? But once word came that they weren’t looking to fix what wasn’t broken, fans started considering the positive possibilities.
One of which was the possibility of a Marvel animated movie. Although this isn’t official and should be filed in the rumor file, word says it might be happening.
When /Film talked with Marvel producer extraordinaire Kevin Feige, he claimed that an animated Marvel film was a “no-brainer” and that there were definitely talks of it, but shot down any hopes that Pixar would be involved. But what really is getting the rumor going, has to do with WINNIE THE POOH director Don Hall who has a secret project in the works. Blue Sky Disney reported about the project last week, saying:
“The projects competing for 2014/2015 are the uber-secret film from Don Hall, which will be a marvelously unexpected project if it ever gets the green light, and Nathan Greno and Byron Howard’s films which are deep in development.”
“Marvelously,” is the key word here. It seems like the perfect tease for a Marvel animated film. Additionally, the original report by Blue Sky said that “once announced will generate a lot of buzz in certain geek communities.” Us geeks like buzz, but it would have to be something we really care about. Marvel seems like the perfect pick.
Only time will tell if this project happens, and if it is indeed Marvel related. But as far as we can tell, all signs point toward awesome.
