The build up to a trailer for TED has been a long one for me. Although I don’t fancy myself much of a Family Guy fan, I have always thought that if the shows creator Seth MacFarlane were to do a feature, it could be quite good. Which is why I have been anxiously awaiting TED, his first foray into theatrical film.
Now we have a red band trailer, which gives us a pretty good idea what to expect from the movie. I can tell you, it does not disappoint. You can check it out after the break! Beware, the humor is mature, so hide the kiddos.
As far as comedies go, this trailer is absolutely superb. It gives us a lot of insight as to the style of humor the film will have, but doesn’t seem to be giving too much away. They leave the plot elements almost entirely out, and leave room for just a few key humorous moments. It seems that Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and John (Mark Wahlberg), have a really great chemistry together. From the trailer I had no doubts that they had been friends for decades.
Needless to say, I’m very excited about this film. I wouldn’t be surprised if this film ended up being a huge success, leading to a very fruitful career in film for MacFarlane. Luckily we don’t have much of a wait before release, as TED will hit theaters on July 13th.
