There was never any doubt that CAPTAIN AMERICA would be a success, and would lead to a sequel. Now that THE AVENGERS is all said and done, it looks that Marvel has turned their sights back to the character’s solo movies. But Joe Johnston is out of the directors chair for CAP 2, so who does Marvel want to take over?
They’ve got a list of people they’ve talked to. Hit the break for more info!
Director of THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU George Nolfi and THE ITALIAN JOB director F. Gary Gray are both on the list, but there is one selection that has got the web talking. Anthony and Joseph Russo, who are best known as being co-directors on Community, easily one of the best comedies on TV currently, are also being looked at by Marvel.
Apparently, they’ve already had a meeting with Kevin Feige, who is Marvel’s president of production, and they hit it off really well. He is apparently a “vibe guy,” which is a really good sign for the Russos. That certainly doesn’t mean it is a done deal, but it is certainly a good sign.
I like the idea of them helping the project, certainly more than the other choices listed. Community does a great handling the insanity of every episode, which certainly could help out in an action movie. Hopefully we will get more info soon.
Who would you guys like to see helm CAPTAIN AMERICA 2?
