Any fan of cinema will tell you that Paul Thomas Anderson is top notch, and certainly one of the best directors out there. Time after time, he has proven himself by making some of the most visually striking, provocative films that we could ever hope for. He’s also been recognized for it come Oscar season.
His next film, THE MASTER now has an official release date this October.
The October 12th release puts it right smack dab during Oscar season, where people really start looking for the best movies of the year. One can only assume that this film will be of the caliber we expect from Anderson, so we should expect big things. With a cast consisting of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Joaquin Phoenix, the performances are likely to be quite good.
I’m very excited to see Anderson’s big follow up to 2007’s THERE WILL BE BLOOD, which lead to Daniel Day-Lewis’ most recent best actor win. Hopefully, THE MASTER can strike with the same thunder. With Anderson’s track record, there is little doubt.
