Yeah, I know. The second HANGOVER movie was a huge disappointment to just about everyone, myself included. They recycled the storyline from the first film and didn’t do much to make it stand out over the original. But, being that both films collectively have grossed over a billion dollars (seriously), of course a third film was inevitable.
The second sequel is now more real than ever, and has an official release date.
The release date will be May 24th, 2013, which is almost two years after Part II was released. The series director Todd Phillips has gone on record saying that they are planning on trying something new with the third film, but skepticism is high anyway. To be perfectly honest, I thought the second film was funny, but the lack of originality really got to me. I think there is still a lot of funny to be had with these characters, and I really hope that Phillips and company capitalize on it.
Either way, if you’re excited about Part III, it’ll be here next summer.
