Full disclosure: I was a huge Smallville fan, owning all the seasons on DVD, and anxiously anticipating new episodes every week. That lasted until midway through season 8, where college and life got the best of me and I had to give up. I always planned on going back, and lately have been working on it. The show has since ended, but CW doesn’t want to give up on the DC train just yet.
Now they have a new show coming out about The Green Arrow, who was a very prominent figure throughout the course of Smallville’s latter half. The show is titled Arrow, and now we also have an image (above) of what the hero will look like.
This show isn’t actually based off of the Smallville version of the character, and is supposedly taking more influence from the comic book character. Here’s a quote from David Nutter, director and executive producer of the show:
“When I directed the pilot for Smallville, I knew that making Clark Kent relatable would be the key to audiences believing in him as a hero. Arrow is a different show — darker and harder-edged — but it’s the same core idea. We’re creating a real, believable world in which Oliver Queen can do incredible things. Colleen Atwood’s great work on the Arrow costume reflects that effort.”
I really dig the look of the show, and from the sounds of it, it could be pretty interesting. The premiere is not scheduled just yet, but I have a hunch we’ll be hearing about it soon. I’ll keep you guys updated, as I’ll be anxiously waiting.
