I love magic. In fact, I used to practice a little bit in my free-time. However, I was never very good, despite my better efforts. My love for magic gets me really excited, as WB is producing a film based off a comic called Mandrake the Magician.
The comic was created and takes place in the 1930’s, but WB is looking to give the film the SHERLOCK HOLMES treatment. Hit the break for more!
Mandrake is a character created by Lee Falk, the man who created The Phantom (yes, like the Billy Zane movie). He is a hypnotist, who uses his powers to fight crime. Very 30’s, in a really cool, interesting way.
The character has been in development hell for a really long time, and a version has yet been made. This makes me unsure about if the film will actually get made. However, it seems that a movie version is something Hollywood really wants to make, I’m sure it’ll happen at some point. We’ll just have to see.
