Jeff Bridges is an actor who can take up almost any role that is offered up to him, and often goes out of his comfort zone to do something new and different. He has the ability to act in a comedy film like THE BIG LEBOWSKI, a dramatic film like CRAZY HEART, and has even been in comic book fare with IRON MAN.
Now, Bridges is set to star in another comic book film – the big screen adaptation of R.I.P.D.
R.I.P.D. is the Rest In Peace Department, based off the Dark Horse comic of the same name. It will star Ryan Reynolds as a recently murdered police officer who joins the department to find his own killer. Bridges will be playing the role of Bo, a long-standing member of the force. The film was written by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, and will be directed by Robert Schwentke.
R.I.P.D. sounds like it is going to be a pretty awesome project, and both Reynolds and Bridges seem to be a good fitfor this type of movie. Bridges is always looking to expand the breadth of his filmography and this project will definitely help with the goal. A project that already looked pretty exciting, just got even better.
