Mos Def joins "Dexter" for sixth season

Dexter has been a groundbreaking show for its network, Showtime, and has engaged fans for five seasons now. The sixth season will be premiering later this year, so Showtime is starting to give us some ideas as to what we should expect. Just a couple days ago, we found out that Colin Hanks would be joining the next season, and now we are getting word of another casting decision.

Rapper and actor Mos Def will be joining the next season for a multi-episode arc, where he will come under Dexter’s consideration. The role is described as “a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence.” Mos Def has the acting chops to pull off a role like this, so I can’t wait to see how he will portray the character.

The next season of Dexter is said to put a lot of focus on Dexter and Deb’s relationship, something that has been needing to happen for several seasons now. One of the most exciting things about Dexter is all the amazing guest starring roles and the actors they bring into them. Mos Def is now set to join those ranks.
