The 24 movie has been brewing for a while now, with seemingly very little progress happening. We had Billy Ray’s script that got turned down a while back, and the film has yet to have a director attached. However, hopes still seem to be very high on the project from those involved.
But has 24 already gone the way of the ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT movie? Kiefer Sutherland says otherwise, as he claims the film will release next year.
On a recent appearance on The View, Sutherland spoke a little bit about the movie, claiming “yes, it will come out in the summer of 2012.” This catches many of us off-guard, because it would give them very little time to actually work on the project, let alone give it the amount of care it needs to be worthy of the series. At this point, after the series has been over for a while, they really don’t have to rush the film out.
However, we can give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they have made more progress than they are letting on. Who knows at this point, but the film is slowly turning into a Bigfoot-esque mystery of Loch Ness Monster proportions.
Either way, it seems Jack Bauer will return at some point.
