When time permits, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright will pen THE WORLD'S END

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright burst on the scene with a film called SHAUN OF THE DEAD, the hilarious yet serious comedy about a man and his friends trying to make it through a zombie apocalypse. Following that, they went on to make HOT FUZZ, a film that is often considered a spiritual sequel to their first film. The third film of that spiritual trilogy, THE WORLD’S END, has been talked about for a long time, but has yet come to fruition.

The reason why is simply because they are so busy. But the boys are trying and planning to find time to get the script written. You can check out what Simon Pegg had to say after the break!

“Me and Edgar are going to try and get together and write out the third thing, whether it ends up being called that, I don’t know… [We’ll write it] as soon as we can basically… Edgar’s now, as we speak, finished his ‘Scott Pilgrim’ promotion in Japan, so he’s going to have some time, and hopefully after ‘Mission Impossible’ I’m going to have some time so we can sit down and get the ball rolling and hopefully turn it over quicker than normal.”

Both Wright and Pegg have a lot on their plates right now, between Pegg’s involvement in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and STAR TREK, and Wright working on BABY DRIVER and ANT MAN. But at least we know they still have interest in finishing off the trilogy. Hopefully they can finish it in the time span they are wanting to. The anticipation is getting harder to handle.

What do you guys think? Are you still excited for THE WORLD’S END?
