Sometimes a film comes along that seems so absurd that it might just work. Even the title can be something so succinct and to the point, yet perfect for that exact reason. This is one of those stories.
Universal has decided to pick up a film called DIRTY GRANDPA, which is seemingly about…a dirty grandfather. The film is set to be “an R-rated comedy centered on a recently widowed, sexually aggressive grandfather on a road trip with his straight-laced grandson.” The grandfather also realizes that his grandson’s fiancée isn’t right for him, and tries to resolve the issue.
Maybe it’s just me, but my love for GRUMPY OLD MEN and its much more enjoyable sequel, GRUMPIER OLD MEN, get me really pumped for this movie. I’ve always claimed I’m an old soul, and my love for those types of movies gets me excited for this film. Although this film seems to be a lot more focused on the R-rating than those other films, it still sounds like it could be pretty funny.
