James Franco seems to have blown up in the past year or so, even when he’s spending a lot of time doing things you wouldn’t expect him to, like General Hospital. Regardless, he is a hard-working guy and is constantly attached to so many projects at a single time. It doesn’t seem like they are stopping any time soon.
Franco has reportedly joined the cast of OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL where he would be taking the lead role.
The role is one that was once held by both Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr., a testement as to how Franco is viewed in Hollywood. I share that sentiment, he really does lift a movie up quite a bit when he’s involved. I’m actually really excited to see what he’ll do with the role.
A prequel to THE WIZARD OF OZ is something that I am not sure I would have been excited about in the past, but with the announcement that Mila Kunis was taking up the role of The Wicked Witch of the West and now this one, I’ve officially jumped back on the bandwagon. Not to mention I’m dying for another Sam Raimi movie. With his last film being DRAG ME TO HELL, it’s hard to imagine anyone not being excited for his follow-up.
