Wonder Woman is one of the main staples of the DC comics universe, yet sometimes gets overlooked as such. Several years ago, Joss Whedon was hard at work trying to bring her to the big screen, in an attempt that didn’t pan out so well. This left her behind as Superman, Green Lantern, and Batman hit the golden screen.
NBC is, however, working on bringing us a new Wonder Woman TV series, and word is out that Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) will be taking up the mantle from the unforgettable Lynda Carter.
For the series, they are reinventing the character into a vigilante hero who is trying her best to balance her heroism with her life as a business executive, while living a somewhat normal life. A tough gig for anyone who isn’t Wonder Woman.
I’m not really sold on the premise and some of the liberties they have taken. Yet, it is a TV series, and I’m absolutely willing to give the first couple episodes a chance. It very well could charm the pants off us all. On the flip-side, if the show becomes popular, it could regenerate interest in making a feature film version of the character.
All of this is a mystery, but you don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to see that Palicki looks the part. What do you guys think?
