It’s no secret that THE LOVED ONES is a huge hit over at GATW, with Rusty giving the film a perfect score in his review. One of the best parts of the film is the work by Robin McLeavy as Lola, “The Princess.” She crafted one of the creepiest, scariest horror performances I’ve seen in years, catapulting the film from great to unforgettable.
Now she looks to be getting her shot at making a splash in the U.S., as she has just been cast in the role of Mary Todd in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER.
Mary Todd will fill the film’s traditional love interest role, as eventually the two were married. The film’s director, Timur Bekmambetov of WANTED fame, seems to be going for lesser known actors for his main roles. This comes hot off the heels of the announcement of Ben Walker taking up the lead role. This could be really big for both he and McLeavy.
McLeavy’s addition to the film really gets me pumped for it – a film that I wanted to see simply because of its ridiculousness actually has some really full-blooded interest behind it now. With this cast and Bekmambetov at the helm, this movie could be pretty fantastic.
