A sequel to last year’s CLASH OF THE TITANS is on its way, but luckily we do have reasons to be excited. The cast and crew seem to be really excited about the film, as Liam Neeson as decided to come back for more and Sam Worthington felt he needed to assure us it’ll be better than the original.
The second film now has been pushed up one week to March 23, 2012, and is set to be released the same day as THE HUNGER GAMES.
It’s unclear as to why they took the move, before this they didn’t have any set competition for the weekend as they do now. It also puts them a bit farther away from the anniversary of the first film, April 2nd, which led them to a $61 million dollar weekend. They must really have some faith behind this picture to do a move like this.
I’m not sure if we’ll ever find out why they decided to make the move, but does it really matter? We are still getting that same crazy and awesome cast, back to do more action-packed things. If you aren’t sold simply by that, then you’re missing out.
