I love Miley Cyrus as much as the next guy, and it’s quite obvious that she is the future of Hollywood. Although I understand all the Miley hate for just being who she is, it’s hard to deny that she actually has some acting skill.
Apparently Lionsgate agrees, and will be distributing her upcoming film LOL.
Although the title terrifies me to the point where I have to hold back a blood-curdling scream of horror, it does sound like an interesting route for Cyrus to go in. A way for her to grow as an actress.
The film is a remake of a french film titled LAUGHING OUT LOUD (better title alert), by the same director, who adapted her own screenplay. Cyrus will play a young girl who is dumped for not being on the same sexual playing field as he is. How un-Disney of you Miley, what would Donald Duck think?
It seems like the natural progression for Miley to do a film such as this one, something a little bit more risky than her past filmography. Not to mention the cast she’s surrounding herself with – it has equal parts Demi Moore and Thomas Jane. Thanks to Lionsgate, we will actually get to see it.
