Hot off the heels of discovering that my favorite childhood book series, Goosebumps, would be making its way towards the big screen we find out that we might be getting more R.L. Stine than first expected. News is now out that another one of his books, titled The Sitter, will also be getting the silver screen treatment.
The film version will be titled THE AU PAIR, and Sam Raimi seems to think that it will make a great film, as he is producing. Many people don’t realize that R.L. Stine has had a successful career outside of Goosebumps churning out a pretty large library of books. If THE AU PAIR proves to be successful, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if more adaptations of his work came to pass. Think Nicholas Sparks but creepier.
It’s exciting to see Stine’s work get some attention, hopefully all of his projects are in the right hands. Something tells me that Raimi’s hands most likely are just that. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
