Although news of Mark Ruffalo playing The Hulk in the upcoming superhero team-up THE AVENGERS was at first a little disheartening, he is quickly earning our hearts and trust with the role. Every news bit that comes out about the film makes it seem as though they’re on the right track, and this news certainly follows that trend.
The Hulk might be a little more Ruffalo than you expected, as he will be doing motion capture for the character.
This is huge, simply because it will be the first time that the character has been done in mo-cap, every other time he has been entirely CGI. It’s even better, as Ruffalo will be doing it himself instead of having a stand-in do it as many films do.
This is what Ruffalo had to say about it:
“I’m really excited. No one’s ever played the Hulk exactly, they’ve always done CGI. They’re going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I’ll actually play the Hulk. That’ll be fun.”
Sounds like a sweet deal to me, as this could bring a whole new level of dimension to the character that we have yet to see. We’ve still got a ways to go till the film is released, but it seems as though they’re on the right track.
