My love for the GODZILLA franchise goes back to when I was a very young child and I saw KING KONG VS. GODZILLA for the first time. After that, GODZILLA became my number one interest, and I had to have every toy and every movie I could get my hands on. That hasn’t changed to this day.
This is exactly why the prospect of Legendary taking over the reins and bringing him back for the first time since 2004’s awesomely epic GODZILLA FINAL WARS was very alluring. Today’s news proves they’re on the right track.
In a recent interview, producer of the new film Brian Rogers divulged a few factoids about their take on the franchise. One of the biggest points was that Godzilla would be fighting other monsters in the film, which is something that was tragically missing in the 1998 American film. As far as if it will be one of the many monsters that we know and love or new ones altogether, we haven’t a clue at this point.
Regardless of who those monster end up being, it’s still exciting to see them taking the project in the obvious, but still correct, way with the film. Hopefully we won’t get stuck following the “Worm Guy” around like we did last time.
