Noomi Rapace is blowing up in the states after her star turn in the Swedish THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and its sequels began to hit our shores. It’s not every day you see a rise as quick as hers, but the actress is ready to become a household name.
We received word she might be joining SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 last month, we now know that it is official.
Currently we know nothing about what her role might be, as it’s “shrouded in mystery.” But The Hollywood Reporter is led to believe that she might be playing a French gypsy, which would be a very interesting role for Rapace.
Regardless of what her role ends up being, it’s likely she’ll bring some much appreciated female talent to the sequel. Not that a film that has both Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law (and supposedly Daniel Day-Lewis) needs more talent. I’m sure we’ll find more about her role in no time, as the film is expected to go in front of the camera late this year.
