A couple months ago, we got word that Doug Liman had dropped out of production of his take on The Three Musketeers and was supposedly on a film called ALL YOU NEED IS KILL. The film was an interesting fit for Liman, but one that could potentially turn into something incredible. From the looks of it, Warner Bros. agrees, as they have hired him as director.
The film is said to be like “GROUNDHOG DAY meets STARSHIP TROOPERS,” as a young soldier must relive a battle against an alien force over and over. This is a pairing that sounds odd, yet intriguing, if handled well. Liman’s hands seem capable of the task.
Liman usually handles action films pretty well (JUMPER aside), his take on an alien attack film is an interesting concept. A large part of the success on this film will go to the believability of the casting, we need actors we can connect to.
He worked with Rachel Bilson on JUMPER, I say he bring her back. What do you guys think?
