Jeffrey Dean Morgan has blown up since his portrayal of The Comedian in WATCHMEN; it most likely even led to his starring role in THE LOSERS earlier this year. Apparently studios are still impressed with him as an action star, as he has been picked up to star in THE COURIER.
In the film, Morgan will play a courier who is hired to deliver packages in the most impossible circumstances. When trying to deliver to a underworld figure who has gone missing, he ends up on the run from people after his life.
I thought Morgan was really great as The Comedian, and would love to see him pop up more often. As far as his effectiveness as an action star, who knows? But THE COURIER could be the film to prove it. The script does sound a little similar to THE TRANSPORTER, but maybe we’ll be proven wrong. If anybody could do it, it would be Morgan.
