Lately I’ve been reminded first-hand how much I really love MONSTERS, INC., as it has been playing on the movie channels nonstop the past couple of weeks. Ironically, that was exactly how my love for the film was first formed. Still, nine years later the film still has the same effect on me.
Like many Pixar and MONSTERS fan, I’ve been anxiously anticipating a follow-up to the original for years, but now whiny vampires are messing with my dreams.
That’s right, folks, the release of MONSTERS, INC. 2 has been moved up due to the conflicting release of Edward and company’s final chapter, the second half of BREAKING DAWN. Although this is a good thing, as it means we are getting the movie sooner than originally planned, it’s still interesting that Pixar was worried. MONSTERS, INC. 2 is now slated for a November 2, 2012 release date, with the last chapter of TWILIGHT following two weeks later, on November 16, 2012.
Time and time again, Pixar has proven that they are one of the greats, not only critically, but also financially. MONSTERS, INC. 2 would likely not be any exception, so why the move?
