It’s no secret that Luc Besson is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time in my a-little-jealous-of-his-talent eyes, and I would watch just about anything that he is involved with. He constantly picks up new projects to work on, and he also co-writes just about every Statham movie in existence.
Now he plans on sending the gorgeous Maggie Grace into space in his newest brainchild, LOCKOUT.
Sadly, this won’t be a return to the director’s chair for Besson, as he only co-wrote the script. Deadline describes the film as revolving around “a man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S.” who is then “offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates,” which sounds pretty damn Besson to me.
Also joining Grace in the film will be Guy Pearce, who I know has won the heart of many a film writer from his excellent work in MEMENTO. With Besson’s involvement and this stellar cast, there’s no doubt he has another hit on his hands.
