Zach Braff still directing SWINGLES as his second feature?

Many, many moons ago, we wrote up about a project that was likely to be Zach Braff’s second directorial effort, a film called SWINGLES. It is the story of some people trying to make it through their thirties while living the single life. It’s been over a year since SWINGLES was first mentioned, but now Braff is talking it up again and letting us in on his next original script.

Hit the break to see what he had to say.

“I’m hoping to direct SWINGLES soon. And I’m in the midst of [writing] my first original since GARDEN STATE. I’m also writing a play, because now that I live in New York, I’m infatuated with the theater.”

SWINGLES still doesn’t sound any more interesting than the first time we heard about it, but the idea of Zach Braff’s quirky direction makes the project seem so much more alluring. If there was one person to make this project a quality movie, it would probably be Braff.

Sadly, he didn’t have much to say about his new script, as he feels it’s to early to talk about, but he claims it will be in the vein of GARDEN STATE. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we get more information on that project. Until then, I’m going to dust off my GARDEN STATE DVD and get my quirk on.
