We’ve gotten quite the run-around from Adam McKay about his potential adaptation of THE BOYS. One second he wants it, and the next second he has potential casting, but is unsure if it’ll happen. Now it seems it has come to fruition, and Adam McKay is definitely on board for now.The film will be R-rated, which it would have to be due to all the violence and blood the film is guaranteed to have. My only fear is that it might have a “KICK-ASS Effect,” where the film is too niche to be R-rated, and suffer from it.
All fears aside, it is exciting to see McKay step out of his element a little bit, and this seems like the perfect project to do that with. The mix of comedy and action are perfect for his sensibilities, and there’s no doubt he has the talent to pull it off.
