John Hawkes is an actor that most people most likely recognize from films they have seen, but they might not know his name off the top of their heads. This is a shame, because Hawkes is a damn fine actor. If you need proof, look no further than ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW, where he successfully leads an ensemble cast into greatness.
Now he is going to be showing up in the great Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming film, CONTAGION.
The role will probably be a lot like many of the roles Hawkes has previously played – too small for his talent, but extremely memorable. That’s just the kind of actor he is, he carries an unforgettable charisma that outweighs his roles greatly.
The massive cast for CONTAGION also includes Laurence Fishburne, Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, and Marion Cotillard. As we all know, Soderbergh is a very talented director who excels with ensemble casts and realistic tones. There’s no doubt that both Hawkes and Soderbergh will knock it out of the park, now we just have to wait. That always seems to be the hardest part.
