SCREAM 4 is finally happening after many years of fan anticipation, and just as many years of writing fan-fiction anonymously on horror movie message boards (don’t tell, please). The cast had been in ink for a while, but now only days before filming has begun, we are hearing that Lake Bell has officially dropped out of filming.
Lake sent out an update via Twitter, breaking the news to her fans that she was no longer going to be in the next of the hit franchise:
“Sucks: Scheduling conflicts with my current gig means I cant do #Scream4! (Hey horror bloggers, I know who the killer is…)”
It’s a shame that she will no longer be showing up in the film, and it seems that she is probably actually really bummed about it.
I can’t help but get a little excited about the idea of recasting the character, I’d love to see them go with someone a little bit more daring. Bell always came across as a safe bet to me, and I’d love to see them get a little creative now that the role is open. There’s no doubt that Wes Craven and company are hard at work finding her replacement.
