A couple of months ago we reported that THE NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET director Samuel Bayer was interested in bringing Garth Ennis’ THE BOYS to the big screen. After that reports of the project faded away, and nothing was left but a memory. News is now surfacing that Sony might have a different director in mind, one you would never expect. No seriously, you would never expect him… seriously.
Adam McKay, director of ANCHORMAN and STEP BROTHERS is currently in talks with Sony about making the adaptation. Never in a million years would I expect him to take a dark project like this, but then again I’m not saying he can’t do it.
Actually, he seems like a pretty good fit to me. I’ve always felt that McKay has a knack for character chemistry, and proves that in just about every film he does. That is a very important aspect that he would need to bring to the boys.
This reinvigorates my interest for this film tenfold. I’m gonna put my faith into McKay, something tells me I could be right.
