X-MEN: FIRST CLASS is quickly shaping up to be a really interesting, and possibly really great, project. The casting, such as James McAvoy playing a young Professor X are easy casting announcements to get behind. Although this casting announcement isn’t a big name, he will play one of my favorite X-Men who is often underutilized in the stories of today.
Benjamin Walker (KINSEY, FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS) will be taking up the mantle of Beast in the film, a role that Kelsey Grammar played in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND. Beast is Dr. Hank McCoy, who may look like a big blue monster, but is actually one of the most brilliant minds in history.
I really can’t wait to see this take on Beast, as THE LAST STAND let me down in their interpretation. I’m somewhat expecting Beast to have his more savage appearance instead of the more human appearance he had in both the early X-MEN comics and most of the eighties.
How do you guys feel about Beast in the film? Or are the wounds too deep from the last time?
