Alex Garland set to pen the new LOGAN'S RUN

It was just a couple weeks ago when we found out that the new LOGAN’S RUN film was still on track, and was being shot and concieved for 3D. Aside from that and the fact that Carl Erik Rinsch, protege of Ridley Scott was most likely to direct, not too much else was known about the upcoming feature. Now they have hired a very fitting screenwriter to pen the film, proving once again that a lot of care is going into making this film.

Alex Garland, who previously wrote the screenplay for 28 DAYS LATER and SUNSHINE (both are films by the incredible Danny Boyle), has been hired to take on the film. 28 DAYS LATER especially seems like proof enough that he could handle the dystopian world of LOGAN’S RUN.

Additionally, this version of the film is supposed to draw more from the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, and not so much from the 1976 film. As of now, there’s no doubt that Garland can pull this off, and make this redo pretty damn memorable.
