Usually when a film gets delayed, it isn’t the best sign in the world. It can mean that the movie might not be best fit for the original release date, or it didn’t turn out the way it was originally intended.
Unfortunately for BEASTLY, they’ve gotten a pretty big delay that seems to be worrisome.
The Vanessa Hudgens-starring film was originally intended to be released at the end of July, but has officially been pushed back to March 18, 2011. That is one hell of a delay – the current reasoning was to not have the film go up against her boyfriend Zac Efron’s film CHARLIE ST. CLOUD, which was moved up to the same release date as BEASTLY a few weeks ago. Both films are very different, but my hunch still tells me that there is more Efron pandemonium than Hudgens fever.
Still, from July to March is a big delay and seems pretty drastic if they are just combating the CHARLIE ST. CLOUD machine. I guess we’ll find out what the case was when the film hits theaters in March of next year.
