The non-stop Marvel Studios news onslaught continues into today with yet another casting announcement after their already crazy casting announcements of last week. Who could forget the awesome, yet still worrying, news that Jeremy Renner was cast as Hawkeye?
Today’s casting announcement is that Academy Award-nominated actor Stanley Tucci will show up in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.
He will be taking up the role of Dr. Abraham Erskine, a German scientist behind the experiment that created Captain America. At this moment, we don’t know how big the role will be, but just from the description one can assume it will at least be an important role.
His addition to the cast just further proves Marvel’s ambition and successes at good casting. Not only does casting Oscar-nominated actors give their films even more legitimacy, it also leads to (shocker!) good performances. I can’t wait to see what Tucci brings to the role, and ultimately the overall experience of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.
