The most recent outing by John Rambo was a pretty surprising event and was only made possible by Stallone’s successful return to Rocky in ROCKY BALBOA. Although RAMBO did fare successful, it seems Sylvester Stallone doesn’t really feel the need to bring Rambo back once more.

“I think Rambo’s pretty well done. I don’t think there’ll be any more. I’m about 99% sure. For Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don’t want that to happen.”
Although that might be over thinking the Rambo formula by a ridiculous amount, it’s probably good that he stops the franchise before it goes too far.
The thing that makes this news a little surprising was that RAMBO V seemed like a sure thing just about six months ago. Talk was originally that he would be facing a PREDATOR like foe, only to later changed back to a more fitting setting. Now it looks like we are getting neither. Is this a good thing or a bummer?
