The ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT film is, for many people, one of the most desired and anticipated films in the past couple of years. Usually we only hear about it every couple of months, and almost every time the update contradicts the one that preceded it. Last thing we heard was that the film would be shooting at the end of the year, but now we’re hearing that it may not happen at all.
The word came from David Cross (who plays Tobias on the show), you can see what he said after the jump!
“Way too much time it’s been (since the show ended). I mean, there’s so many people involved. Everyone’s doing their own thing, you know. And everybody’s aged. It’s just not going to happen. I’m sure I speak for everybody when I say we’d love for it to happen, we’d love to work on it, but just I don’t think… not going to happen.”
Of course Cross could just be talking out of his ass, but at the same time it doesn’t seem like the film is making any progress. Most likely, after all the off-and-on talk they’ve put us through, they’ll make an official announcement if the project is canceled.
Red carpet and interview talk is where most of the ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT news comes from, and the cast probably isn’t let in on every step of the pre-production. I’m sure we’ll hear some other report in the near future to give us more insight on the state of the project. Until then, I’ll be hoping.
