The announcement of Chris Evans as CAPTAIN AMERICA is one that was met with very little contention, and many fans were very pleased with the choice. Of course, everyone still has their worries. One of the biggest fears about the CAP movie is that they will change the costume up too much. The film’s director Joe Johnston responded to these claims, but the fear still remains. Reports that THOR’s costume would be spot on to the comic do aid many doubts.
Lucky for us, Film School Rejects got some Fan Made FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA posters that give you a taste as to what Evans in the costume would be like. You can check it after the jump!
I just want to reiterate that these posters are Fan Made and are not official, but they are definitive proof that the costume would work on film. Although both posters are very similar, I have a hunch that the top costume is the closest to what the film costume will be like. It’s toned down a bit, and the brown straps and smaller gloves ground it to reality a bit more than the bottom poster, while still keeping the Cap look. Additionally, I’ll be pretty surprised if the mask isn’t a helmet (see the very top picture for reference), at least in FIRST AVENGER.
