Forest Whitaker no longer in JEKYLL AND HYDE

JEKYLL AND HYDE is a property that has been really underrepresented. Yes, there have been versions of it such as the original NUTTY PROFESSOR  and its subsequent remake. Aside from those, the classic property has just been at a standstill. Unfortunately, the future of one of the most promising upcoming adaptations is looking very dark.

The adaptation to be helmed by director Abel Ferrera (the original BAD LIEUTENANT) has run into some issues. A-list actor Forest Whitaker was set to play as Dr. Jekyll and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson would be the much more sinister Mr. Hyde. But News came out today that Whitaker will no longer lead the cast. But many are wondering what could this mean for the project.

With the lead actor gone, and the director busy working on a broadway play, the project is probably not going to happen very soon. It also seems unlikely at this point that Ferrera will end up directing this project, if it does end up happening. It’s too bad, because this could have been a pretty interesting film.
