David Chase creator of "The Sopranos" to direct rock drama

David Chase burst into the mainstream with his instant hit creation “The Sopranos.” The show rose in the ranks, and has ultimately became the most financially successful television series of all time. Not only was the series a financial success but it constantly met critical acclaim throughout its run. Now it seems that David Chase is looking to burst out of “The Sopranos,” bubble and direct his first feature.

The currently unnamed feature in question is said to be “about a bunch of guys who form a rock band in the 1960s.” The film is also written by Chase, who has time and time again proven his writing aptitude. The film is set to be released by indie brand, Paramount Vantage.

Although talk of a film version of “The Sopranos” has pretty much entirely died out, I’m thinking that this might be the next best thing. Since the show has gone off the air, we have been lacking my fix on Chase’s style. Who knows, maybe this film will go well and might inspire him to do a “Sopranos” film.
