If you’re a big fan of the WALLACE & GROMIT series, you most likely know who Nick Park is. In a lot of ways, he led the way with modern claymation. Almost every one of his efforts have been extremely successful, and he has won multiple Oscars for his work. On top of that, he is nominated for an Oscar this Sunday with his most recent WALLACE & GROMIT short. Needless to say, people really like his work.
But should we expect to see his next feature take it to the third dimension? This news comes directly from Park himself. Check out what he had to say after the jump!
“When I first saw 3D coming in I had quite an appetite to do a 3D film. We were even planning to do an IMAX Wallace and Gromit at one point in 3D but for some reason financially that got shelved.”
A 3D IMAX WALLACE & GROMIT – I’m dreaming already! That wasn’t all that Park had to say about the subject:
“I’d like to see a 3D Plasticine animation – I think it would really suit it. In a way I’ve been a bit skeptical, but I have a feature idea up my sleeve which I’m thinking might be 3D.”
Sadly, he doesn’t go on to say any actual details about the project, but following his track record, I feel very confident. One of the best things about this possible project is that, if it ends up being successful, the IMAX WALLACE & GROMIT he mentioned could become a reality. A reality with that film is one that I crave.
