Sam Raimi to bring THE SHADOW to Fox?

THE SHADOW is a property that has been around for a very long time, starting with pulp novels and radio shows. Some of you might also remember a little 1994 film with Alec Baldwin. Well, there has been talk about a revitalization of the franchise at Sony with none other than Sam Raimi at the helm, but now we are hearing that that plan might have changed.

Supposedly, Raimi is trying to move the film over to Fox and is no longer planning to direct. It is being reported that David Slade will now be set to direct once he is done working on TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. And finally, we’re hearing that Fox is willing to pay $1 million dollars to get the rights to THE SHADOW from Sony.

I think Slade has the chops to pull this movie off, I really dug his adaptation of 30 DAYS OF NIGHT and HARD CANDY was sublime. I feel very confident in Slade’s skill at getting the dark vibe that the film would need. We’ll let you know when we hear more about this project.
