William Shatner starring in Shit My Dad Says pilot

It isn’t a new thing for a television network to see a commercial or an online sensation and think it would make a good sitcom. That’s why many people weren’t too excited when it was announced that the popular twitter account shitmydadsays was being turned into a sitcom. Many were quick to compare the idea to the failure that was Cavemen sitcom (based off the Geico commercials), but this one has a secret weapon up it’s sleeve.

William Shatner has been cast as the Dad in the series, which is being made for CBS. The pilot was co-written by Justin Halpern, creator of the actual twitter feed. If the series is picked up for a season (which will most likely happen), it will most certainly have a title change. Hopefully they can think of something more clever than “Stuff my dad says.”

This news makes me really excited for the pilot, I could see Shatner fitting into this role perfectly. I really can’t think of a better casting job. Hopefully this pilot gets picked up so we can see it in all its profane glory.
