ONDINE is a little Irish movie starring Colin Farrell, about a fisherman who accidentally catches a woman in his net while working. After his daughter meets the strange woman, she is convinced the woman is a mermaid. The film was directed by Neil Jordan, who previously directed INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE and THE CRYING GAME.
The film looks pretty interesting, and seems like a departure from the route a film like this would usually go. The trailer takes a pretty suspenseful, exciting turn that proves it is more than just a drama, as the first half would lead you to believe.

The film previously showed at the Toronto Film Festival, and will be shown at the Dublin Film Festival. It is set for a limited release in the US on June 4, 2010. I can’t wait to see this one.
