Etan Cohen has become somewhat of a hotshot in Hollywood in the past couple of years. After writing IDIOCRACY and TROPIC THUNDER, he has made a name for himself in the comedy genre. Now it looks as though he is moving through the natural progression, and will direct a feature film.
That film is DADDY’S HOME, which will star Will Ferrell and Ed Helms. The story is about lady’s ex-hubby (Will Ferrell) who lives on the wild side, then decides to be more present in his children’s lives, much to the dismay of their new stepfather (Ed Helms).
I’m not sure what to expect – obviously – but I hope Ferrell gives us another odd performance like he did in STRANGER THAN FICTION. As of now, I’ll hold my excitement until a trailer or photos premiere. I have to admit though, I’m really glad Ed Helms is on board, especially after displaying his R-rated comedic skills in THE HANGOVER.
