FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA is one of the most exciting film projects that I’ve ever heard of. I’m so excited to see what the film’s director, Joe Johnston, does with the film version of one of my favorite superheroes. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard a single bit of casting aside from rumors. But in a recent interview, Joe Johnston gave us a little insight about when they might have their Captain America chosen.
Check out what he said, after the jump!
“We have a very short list, but we’re still juggling actors here. I’d say within the next couple of weeks we’ll have ourselves a Captain America, I hope.”
Let the speculation about who is on this “short list,” begin, I’m still pulling for Chris Pine. Another pretty good one would be Mark Valley from “Human Target,” although he is a little too old for the role.
Hopefully we’ll hear who they pick soon enough, as filming is supposed to begin this year. With filming around the corner and the film’s release date set at July 22, 2011, it won’t be too long before we have a big screen adaptation of Captain America.
