Joe Gatt tells us about more about THOR

THOR is probably the only Marvel movie I have ever questioned at all. Luckily, my fears have been washed away, now all I have is excitement. However, other fans are probably still wondering what they will do costume-wise, which sadly can be make or break for a superhero movie.

Luckily for us, one of the actors in the film, Joe Gatt, let us know a little bit about his character,  along with what we can expect from the sets and the costumes of the characters.

Until now, it was unknown who Gatt would play in the film. While speaking of his character, Gatt said that he is “playing a bad guy with a lot of action.” Later, he was asked if he would have any scenes with Thor and his response was “my character gives him a lot of grief.” Uh oh, doesn’t sound too good for the god of thunder.

Gatt then let us know a little bit about the sets and costumes. This is what he had to say:

“The sets are huge and truly beautiful, some of the best [I]’ve ever seen. All the characters have amazing costumes. The designers have done an extraordinary job at maintaining the traditional Marvel looks all the fans are expecting, but adding their own new style.”

He also spoke a bit about his character’s costume, he said his “costume is awesome and [I] get some seriously mean weapons!!!!”

I hope he is right about the costumes, I honestly think that will be a major selling point for the movie if they do it right. Even though the picture I used at the top isn’t the traditional Thor appearance, I used it purposefully. For anyone that doesn’t know, the picture is of Thor in Marvel’s “Ultimate” universe. In the Ultimate line of comics, Thor is given a toned down, more realistic costume. I used that picture because I think that the film version of Thor will most likely look kind of like that. I like that costume, so I wouldn’t mind at all, would you?

THOR is currently shooting and is set to hit theaters (with a giant hammer) on May 6, 2011.
