The first time I saw KING OF KONG, I was completely blown away. The source material was right up my alley, but I wasn’t expecting such an engaging, exciting, and fun documentary to come from it. Needless to say, I was excited about what he would make next. Sadly, his next movie was FOUR CHRISTMASES. Now he is set to direct another romantic comedy CELESTE AND JESSE FOREVER.
CELESTE AND JESSE FOREVER was co-written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, and is set to star Jones. It is the story of a couple who try to stay friends while dating others and getting a divorce. Since Jones co-wrote it, it could be more than your average romantic comedy.
It’s a little weird for a director that made his name with a geeky movie to jump into romantic comedies. But, I have talked to a lot of people that liked FOUR CHRISTMASES. So we’ll see, I’m not convinced yet about this project. I think it would be interesting to see him tackle another documentary, don’t you?
